Condition: Play-worn with age-related patina
Remarks: This is a very rare find.   A die-cast (in lead) train set in play-worn condition with age-related patina.   The Locomotive is in 0-6-0 configuration and its model number, we believe, is 17a.   The Shell Petrol Tanker is a particularly sought-after model, number 21d, and finished in vibrant colours as is the The lumber wagon.   These were apparently produced between 1934 and 1941 and has the model number 21c.   We have been unable to find any information about the he low-sided wagon: though it is highly probable it was sold as part of the same set.
The cabin of the loco is not secure and seperates from the chassis if picked up by that part.   The bracket securing the wheel to the chassis on the petrol tanker has sheared off.   Both will be an easy fix for someone with the correct tools and know how.   This set was manufactured in England circa 1930s.   As far as we can ascertain, around 1934.
Dimensions: Dimensions (locomotive): 7.2cm x 2.6cm x 3.6cm and weighs 114g.
Dimensions (Shell wagon): 5.5cm x 2.6cm x 3.6cm and weighs 80g.
Dimensions (low-side wagon): 5.6cm x 2.6cm x 2.4cm and weighs 56g.
Dimensions (Lumber wagon): 6cm x 2.6cm x 3.1cm and weighs 54g.
